Wastewater system starts discharging treated water
DD Biofuel reached a significant milestone with the Constantine wastewater system discharging MMPA’s treated process wastewater to the St Joseph river. MMPA used to send its wastewater to the local municipality for treatment but that was no longer an option due to the capacity limitations of the municipal system. To address this problem, the ethanol plant’s wastewater system was expanded to handle both MMPA’s process wastewater along with the distillation waste. The combined wastewater plant will allow MMPA’s dairy production to continue to grow while managing its waste in an economic and environmentally friendly way.
