DD Biofuel partners with EMG International to lower process carbon intensity.
To reduce the carbon intensity of its process, DDB will use anaerobic digestion to produce biogas to power its distillation system. Waste from the distillation process along with MMPA’s process wastewater will be fed into four 30,000 gallon digesters made by EMG International. EMG digesters are compact since they processes wastewater at a higher rate than a traditional system, making them ideal for Constantine’s small footprint. When operational, the digesters will cut organic loading by 10X and make enough biogas to run distillation. The digesters were manufactured by EMG in Philadelphia and shipped to Constantine by truck.
